Summer Fun

With summer barely a whisper away now is the time to prepare and get that bikini body the natural way, Skin often suffers in the winter from cold dry conditions and we feel the effects of those long dark days and tend to gain weight and feel sluggish, here are some top tips to get you back in shape and stay healthy through the summer:

  • Drink plenty of pure water to keep hydrated, especially in the sun, and flush away toxins.
  • Cut out stimulants that over load the body such as alcohol, refined sugar and caffeine for seven days to reduce the strain on the adrenal system.
  • Body brushing is good for improving skin texture and stimulating the lymph which increases circulation, boosts the immune system and enhances the complexion.
  • Take plenty of exercise, skipping and trampolineing are excellent ways to increase circulation and also help to improve bone quality.
  • Take a natural antioxidant such as turmeric which can be added to food or even mixed with a little olive oil and black pepper for a salad dressing, this protects the cells from damage from free radicals which attack the cells and cause ageing.
  • Eat plenty of vegetables, now is the time to go for a mixed salad which is great with chicken or fish, raw vegetables stimulate the spleen and get the pancreatic juices working which helps with food digestion.

Some things to include in your holiday bag are some natural alternatives such as:

  • Sun lotion from Green People (available on line) which contains natural sunscreens, Did you know that a lot of heat rashes and summer eczema is caused by sun creams that have a chemical sun block where as a physical block (like the one in Green Peoples sun cream) lasts longer and doesn’t irritate the skin.
  • Aloe Vera gel, brilliant for soothing sunburnt skin and bites.
  • Tea tree oil, a natural antiseptic great for bites, stings, cuts.
  • Arnica homeopathic tablets, for bruising, knocks and falls good for those summer sports!
  • Vitamin B a natural mosquito repellent, which they can smell through the skin.
  • A water bottle, it is important to keep hydrated and helps guard against heat stroke.
  • A straw hat, as the head is always exposed to the sun.

Take excellent care of yourself this summer and feel the difference.
